Notice of Intent Processing Report
Updated by 2 PM each Monday except during June

At the conclusion of the business day on Friday, November 14, 2008, the NC Division of Non-Public Education (DNPE) completed processing all home school Notice of Intents which were received by DNPE on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.  In processing, priority is given to those received the earliest.  If your home school Notice of Intent was received on or before that date, you can expect to receive your formal written acknowledgment via US Postal Service first class mail within the next ten days provided you attached proper high school diploma evidence for all persons named on lines 6 and 7 of your submitted home school Notice of Intent form.

Notice of Intents should always be filed with DNPE at least 30 days before the date you wish to withdraw your child from his/her current conventional school (public or non-public).  Otherwise, parents/guardians remain under the legal jurisdiction of local public school compulsory attendance enforcement authorities and risk possible prosecution by them for a compulsory attendance violation until the registration process with DNPE has been completed.

Please do not call DNPE about the processing of your Notice of Intent since no additional information is currently available (unless it has been more than thirty calendar days since mailing it to DNPE).  Instead, click here.
