UNC-Chapel Hill's Friday Center for Continuing Education offers teachers the opportunity to take online courses.  Teachers also can take courses during the summer session through Carolina Courses Online.  In addition, the Continuing Education Center has courses available through Self-paced Study Online, which does not follow a semester schedule but instead allows teachers to begin at any time and complete the courses on their own schedules.  Carolina Courses Online at www.fridaycenter.unc.edu/cp/cco has courses in African-American studies, anthropology, art, biology, business, drama, English, geography, history, information and library science, journalism and mass communication, philosophy, political science, psychology, religious studies, and sociology.  Self-paced Study Online at www.fridaycenter.unc.edu/cp/catalog currently has courses in history and physics; additional courses in sociology, psychology, and accounting are nearing completion.
