The Focus on Patterns and Relationships Workshops are intended
to help all
K-12 teachers. Non-public school teachers are invited to participate:
• Gain a clearer and deeper understanding of the third strand of the NCThe workshops will be offered at three locations across the state as listed below.
Mathematics Standard Course of Study;• Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to implement high-quality
mathematics instruction at every grade level;• Expand problem-solving skills and implement positive change in the
classroom; and,• Develop plans tailored to specific teaching needs.
At each location there will be a grade-level specific (K-2, 3-5, 6-8,
and
9-12) workshop.
Please call or write the appropriate contact for registration information
(below). DO NOT send money or registration forms
to NCDPI.
There is a limit of 30 people per grade level (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12)
at
each site.
The registration fee for each participant is $75. The fee includes
materials, two lunches, and refreshments.
NCTM's Navigating through Algebra series will be used in the workshops
and
a copy will be provided to each participant.
It is strongly suggested that participants bring a calculator, preferably
the one they use in their classroom. Since all handouts will
be
three-hole punched, participants may want to bring a three-ring binder.
